Fancourt's Finest

South Africa has some of the finest and most natural land for golf anywhere in the world. It has picturesque mountain ranges, plenty of sunshine, lush vegetation and a coastline admired by many golfers looking for adventure.

Fancourt has a link to the finest traditions in golf design, giving it a truly distinctive and unique feel. All four of its golf courses, sit at the base of the Outeniqua mountains and it is a complex frequented by many of the world’s golfing elite including Ernie Els and Retief Goosen.

The course was designed by Gary Player and the present owner, Dr Hasso Plattner,
fulfilling their dream of creating something which not only looks like a links course, but also plays like one. The complex also has an exceptional golf academy, teaching facilities and performance laboratory, should anyone wanting to hone some aspect of their game.

Getting there
The best way to get to Fancourt is to fly into Cape Town and drive along the coast for 3-4 hours. The famed ‘Garden Route’ is picturesque and the spectacular shoreline of the Indian Ocean is never far from view.

Besides golf
There is plenty to see and do in this part of the world, from famous safari parks to the vineyards of Stellenbosch, and from incredible caves systems to seal watching on Mossel Bay. Alternatively take a short ferry ride to Knysna Lagoon and see the wonders of the deep at very close range.
